With the opening of the facility in Chennai, Apollo announced the growth of the Apollo Genomics Institute. Apollo Genomic Institute was previously established in Mumbai and Delhi, increasing its investments in genomics. Apollo plans to open three additional genomics facilities by the end of 2023, one each in Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Ahmedabad.

India has made great strides in the fight against communicable diseases over the years, but the rise in genetic problems in recent years has gone unnoticed. Genomic research enables early intervention and preventive therapy by identifying these disorders before they become apparent. By making genomic services accessible to every clinician and patient, the Apollo Genomics Institute seeks to revolutionize medical practice.

A variety of genomic services, including genetic evaluation, clinical diagnostics, obstetric genetics, cancer genomics, prenatal genetic screening capabilities, and more, will be offered at the Apollo Genomic Institute in Chennai, giving patients the knowledge they need to manage and prevent genetic illnesses.

The genetic data generated will be collected and secured in a secure manner using a genomic variant database that Apollo Genomic Network plans to launch.  It is in addition to being actively involved in academic and research endeavors, the Pan-Apollo Genomics Network. Weekly case reviews, peer-to-peer learning, monthly grand rounds, a journal club, and a healthcare seminar series are all offered by AGI.   The ultimate goal of the Apollo Genomics Institute is to revolutionize Indian healthcare by enabling access to precise and individualized treatment.
