The Apollo International Clinical Fellowship Programme (ICFP) is introduced by Apollo Education UK (AEUK) in 2022 as a part of its Global Workforce Development (GWD) initiative. Doctors (MS/MD/DNB) can “earn as they learn” during the course of this three-year ICFP program by receiving mentorship from senior physicians at Apollo Hospitals in India in the year leading up to their placement in NHS clinical practice. They will then be assigned to a UK hospital for the following two or more years, where they will be able to complete their clinical learning. Doctors will study at Edge Hill University for a Master of Surgery or Master of Medicine degree while gaining this international work experience in a specialty.

The Apollo ICFP is specifically designed to give doctors mentorship, access to top-tier specialist clinical training, and practical experience in delivering the highest caliber of medical care. The program is a partnership between Edge Hill University in the UK, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, AEUK, and Global Training, and Education Centre (GTEC) at Wrightington.

The Apollo ICFP is the newest project under the “Apollo Knowledge” banner, which is the skilling, training, education, and resource arm of the Apollo Group. This is a component of AEUK’s Global Workforce Development (GWD) initiative, a training, skill-building, and job placement program for healthcare professionals that enables them to expand their horizons and gain education and work experience abroad.
