A press meet was organized to announce the upcoming Bengali film Akash Ongshoto Meghla in the august presence of Rudranil Ghosh, Ankita Chakraborty, Rahul and others.

The film is based on two short stories by Swapnomoy Chakroborty.

The film’s story is about two disconnected men who have lost their way of life due to an unexpected lockout of the factory. Rasomoy Bagchi’s life is shattered when he loses his job in a jute mill as a labour. His age old political beliefs are also shattered by a series of events. Another story unfolds seven to eight years later. Anirban Sarkar is a brilliant student who had to leave midway his studies to support his family. Despite being such a talented student, he fails to secure a job due to the corruption in the system. What happens next?

Speaking about her association with the film, actress Ankita said “Many of us have read many stories written by Swapnomoy Chakroborty. His stories resonate with real life situations and real life people. Such is the charm of his stories. The story is that of breaking of your dreams. This will be an interesting project to work on”.

Rasomoy Bagchi’s role will be essayed by Rudranil Ghosh in the film. “I have been trying to work in such a project for a long time now. The stories by Swapnomoy Chakroborty have a realistic angle to them and the audience will be able to relate with it well” said Rudranil Ghosh.

The screenplay and direction is by Joydeep Mukherjee. Rudranil Ghosh, Rahul Banerjee, Ankita Chakraborty, Basabdatta Chatterjee, Rumki Chatterjee, Debdut Ghosh, Damini Benny Basu, Koushik Kar, Sudip Sarkar and others will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.

The producer of the film is Md Imran and the production house is Idea Frames Productions.

The shooting of the film will begin soon.
