At the Mohammedan Sporting Grounds, Bengal Peerless Housing Development Company will present the Kolkata Police Friendship Cup. The inauguration will feature a charity football game featuring great Brazilian footballer Cafu. Leander Paes, a legendary tennis player, and other famous people will take part in the match, which will begin at 3.30 pm tomorrow. The match is being held in conjunction with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s 125th birthday celebrations.

“It is a privilege for me to travel to India. Kolkata is very dear to me because we both have a love and obsession with football. Bengal reportedly has a sizable Brazilian fan base and I am happy to visit Bengal” said Cafu.

Cafu, the most capped player in Brazil’s history, and the last captain to hold the FIFA World Cup Trophy said, “India is a very passionate football nation. I look forward to meeting a whole new generation of fans while continuing to spread the overwhelming love and passion that I have for this great sport”.

In addition to participating in this charity match between Bengal Peerless All Stars Eleven and Kolkata Police All Stars Eleven during his four days in India, Cafu will fly to Kolkata on behalf of the presenting Sponsor Bengal Peerless and open the Kolkata Police Friendship Cup. Cafu, the captain of the champion team, will also teach aspiring young players the fundamentals of the game. Mr. Satadru Dutta, who is promoting Cafu’s trip to India, said that he was really eager to visit West Bengal.

Cafu will participate in a chat show during his tour and present a jersey to Ms. Mamata Banerjee, the Hon. Chief Minister of West Bengal, and a football boot to Mr. Sourav Ganguly, a cricketing icon.
