Byomkesh Gowtro’s music launch was organized at Trincas, Park Street in the august presence of director Arindam Sil, Abir Chatterjee, Sohini Sarkar, Priyanka Sarkar, Ujjaini Mukherjee, Sauraseni Maitra, Bibriti Chatterjee and others.

The music of the film has been composed by Bickram Ghosh. There are two songs in this film. One is Bisher Dhowaye sung by Ujjaini Mukherjee and features Priyanka Sarkar performing a cabaret. The other song is Balamuwa.

Bickram Ghosh and Ujjaini performed live at the occasion. The music launch event was even made special with the gracious presence of Usha Uthup who came to Trincas for the music launch of the event. Incidentally, she began her career singing at Trincas. So it was nostalgic for her too.

Speaking about his association with Arindam Sil, Bickram Ghosh said “I have known him for a long time. We acted in a film together and it was then that I told him to make a film. He said he will make one. And Aborto which may have got mixed reactions is my favourite Arindam Sil directed film. And after working in so many films with him, we have developed a great rapport. While making the music, one of the most important things that I had to keep in mind was the fact that the film was set in a time when there was a colonial hangover. So I had to keep in mind this aspect and compose the music accordingly”.

Arindam Sil was full of praises for Arjun Chakraborty whom he termed as the best Satyakam that the Bengali film industry will get. He also praised Priyanka Sarkar for acting in the role of Emily. “Emily’s role was not there in the original story in such a grand way. I have worked on it and have made the role longer. I am glad Priyanka agreed to do the role” added Arindam Sil.

Inspired from eminent Bengali writer Sharadindu Bandopadhyay’s Rakter Daag, the film stars Anjan Dutt, Harsh Chhaya, Anindita Bose, Baisakhi Marjit in other important roles.

A cabaret dancer performed live at the occasion and Bickram Ghosh and Arindam Sil even matched a step or two with the lady.

The film released today and is one of the most anticipated films during the Durga Puja season.
