Denmark To Deliver Sustainable Solutions To India

India and Denmark will begin the year with a Green Strategic Partnership that will enable Denmark to deliver sustainable solutions to India. This is a mutually beneficial agreement between the two countries that will help to advance political co-operation, create jobs, strengthen cooperation on addressing global challenges, expand economic relations and also promote green growth.

This agreement is in line with the vision expressed by H. E. Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Denmark, and Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India who held a virtual summit on 28th September 2020.

A press meet was organized that was graced by Smita Bajoria, Hony, Consul General of Denmark in Kolkata, and H. E. Freddy Svane, Danish Ambassador. Smita Bajoria was conferred the knighthood by the Danish Ambassador on behalf of the Queen of Denmark for the Serampore Initiative of restoration of Danish cultural heritage in Serampore.

As part of the Serampore Initiative The Governor’s House, Serampore College, and St. Olav’s Church were restored.

The Danish Ambassador highlighted the fact that India was ready for receiving sustainable solutions from Denmark and this association will be a mutually beneficial decision for both countries.
