Desun Hospital’s Great Outreach Programs On World Health Day

Desun Hospital reaffirmed its dedication to preventive healthcare and public well-being on World Health Day 2026 by organizing several significant health awareness and community outreach programs throughout Kolkata and Siliguri.
An energetic walkathon from Venus More to Air View More kicked off the day in Siliguri, inspiring locals to prioritize fitness and lead active lives. The Desun medical team used a mannequin to teach and demonstrate Basic Life Support to participants during the walkathon. After that, residents had access to free health examinations, consultations, and basic screenings from Desun’s medical staff at a mega health camp. The program, which focused on increasing awareness of preventive healthcare, saw significant community involvement.

In the meantime, Desun Hospital held health camps for morning walkers at Patuli Lake and Rabindra Sarobar, two of Kolkata’s most well-liked fitness centers. Early risers benefited from immediate health evaluations, vital signs, and professional medical guidance, highlighting the significance of regular health monitoring.
Additionally, Desun’s consultants led departmental interactive OPD talks with an emphasis on early diagnosis, preventive care, and lifestyle diseases. The goal of these sessions was to provide patients and their families with useful health information.
In an effort to reach younger audiences, the hospital also planned engagement events for schoolchildren, educating them about the principles of good health, hygiene, nutrition, and active living. The program’s goal was to create a future generation that is more health-conscious by fostering healthy habits at a young age.

“World Health Day is a reminder that good health begins with awareness and preventive action. We hope to bring healthcare into the community and beyond hospital walls with these initiatives”, said Mr. Sajal Dutta, Chairman & Managing Director, Desun Hospital.
With these programs, Desun Hospital continues to solidify its position as an ethical healthcare provider committed to treating patients as well as creating a healthier community via early intervention, accessibility, and awareness.
