A discussion was organized at Oxford Bookstore on the topic “Does Media Empower Women?”.

The event was graced by Rita Bhimani, Ritusmita Biswas, Ramanjit Kaur and Suparna Mucadam.

Ramanjit Kaur highlighted on the fact that media does helps in empowering women as they can come up with their stories and present it to the audience. This helps in getting out many inspiring stories which motivates other women too.

Rita Bhimani however threw light on the fact that despite media showcasing many good things about women, one need to change their mindset. Otherwise it will not be good and it will just be an eye wash for the women.

The event was curated by Dr. Tehnaz J Dastoor.
