The documentary Charaiveti directed by Chandan Biswas and Bauddhayan Mukherji was screened at the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival.

The 72 minutes documentary revolves around a single cast member Chandan Biswas.

He became the first man to complete the Trans-Himalayan expedition on a bicycle. He went on the expedition with a go-pro camera. Chandan shot the journey and got footage of 52 hours. The film was born out of this footage.

The film is a personal video diary about Chandan’s desire to make a new record.

“I used to carry five to six days’ of food with me. I also had with me my bedding and other accessories needed to survive on the road. So I just needed a place to spend the night. I even spent many nights at police barracks. There have been many police stations who have been extremely cooperative with me” said Chandan.

The producer of the film is Moanlisa Mukherji while the editing has been done by Abhro Banerjee.

The music has been composed by Raja Narayan Deb.

With this film, the makers wanted to promote adventure sports.

Bauddhayan Mukherji highlighted the fact that he wants the film to be screened at mountain film festivals before releasing the film elsewhere.
