The trailer for SVF’s upcoming film ‘The Eken,’ directed by Joydeep Mukherjee, was released recently and is now available on SVF’s social media platforms. Anirban Chakrabarti’s performance as Bengal’s favorite detective Ekendra Sen has already received widespread acclaim, and Paayel Sarkar, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Somak Ghosh, and Debasish Mondal will also appear alongside him in the film.

This time, Ekenbabu’s riveting mystery thriller will take place in the Darjeeling hills. During a trip to the city with his two favorite companions, Bapi (Suhotra Mukhopadhyay) and Pramatha (popular RJ Somak Ghosh), Ekenbabu meets a famous movie star Bipasha Mitra and is offered the job of investigating a case that takes a gruesome turn when a murder occurs in the hills. Paayel Sarkar will play Bipasha Mitra, and Debasish Mondal, best known for his role in Mandaar, will play a pivotal role in the film.

Padmanabha Dasgupta wrote the script and dialogue for the film, which is based on Sujan Dasgupta’s original story. Subhadip Guha composed the background score for ‘The Eken,’ and Aamlaann Chakraabarty composed the music.

Paayel Sarkar, who is ecstatic to be a part of the film, said, “First and foremost, I think it is a fantastic initiative to bring Ekenbabu to the big screen because the character is so different from the other Bengali detectives. ‘The Eken’ is eyeing for release on 14^th April 2022.
