The Bengal Fashion Heritage is a unique initiative of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which was launched in 2016, and The Bengal Fashion Expo was held in 2017. The Bengal Fashion Heritage under the leadership of Dr. Rupali Basu, Founder, Director of TBFH & Chairperson, Lifestyle Committee of The Bengal Chamber organized a Digital Rendezvous.

The objective of The Bengal Fashion Heritage (TBFH) 2021 –  

  • The digital rendezvous focuses on a sustainable approach towards the continuation of business in this unprecedented time.
  • Arranging for an e-Commerce platform to sell the products directly from the manufacturer
  • Assessing Consumer psychology post lockdown.
  • Exploring new opportunities.
  • Impact on International Apparel Business

They have proposed the Government of West Bengal to constitute ‘Embroidery Council’ to safeguard the interests of these skilled artisans.

Special Felicitation on the occasion of TBFH 2021: 

BCC&I felicitated three Creative Geniuses of Bengal:-  Smt. Shamlu Dudeja, Chairperson, SHE Foundation, Smt. Nandita Raja, Founder, Kanishka, and posthumously to Late Sharbari Datta, for their untiring efforts and enduring sacrifices in creating livelihood for artisans.

The panelists were of the opinion that looking at the current scenario, going digital is the only way forward and the importance of the e-commerce platform was unparalleled during the pandemic.
