Kishmish’s new song Oboseshe will bring back the essence of love of the 80’s. The innocence that was prevalent in those times has been aptly showcased in this song. It will be a great song to look forward to. The Millenials will get an understanding of the love that was present in the 80s. It is a heart-touching song” said Dev at the song launch of Oboseshe.

Director Rahool Mukherjee, Rukmini Maitra, Nilayan Chatterjee, and Modhura Palit graced the song launch event.

Oboseshe has been composed and written by Nilayan Chatterjee. The song has been sung by Arijit Singh.

The romantic comedy, which features some exciting 2D animation, explores love across three timelines. One of the stories also has a political underpinning. This film will show what Millenials think about love. This film appears to be an honest attempt to explore the true essence of love from a different perspective, as Dev and Rukmini pose the question in the trailer, “What is love?” to everyone.

Dev will play four different characters in the rom-com, ranging in age from 16 to 45, and while preparing for the role, he lost a whopping 15 kilograms.

“Anupam Roy has been making such fantastic songs over the years but his cult song is Amake Amar Moton Thakte Dao. Similarly, Nilayan will continue to write more songs in the future. However, Oboseshe will be remembered as one of his cult songs by the audience” said Dev.

Rukmini, on the other hand, plays Rohini Sen, a woman who cherishes her close relationships as well as her values and principles. Rohini also represents the new-age college topper, whose views have always been liberal, but she prefers to do things the old-fashioned way when it comes to love.

“I have grown up listening to the story of my grandmother and my grandfather. Whenever my grandmother used to get angry, she did not open the windows of her room. To reduce her anger, my grandfather used to write down letters and keep them in a specific place on the pavement in front of her home. This innocence is missing in the love in today’s times. We have become too smart and everything can be done with the help of a message. When I said yes to this film, I was thinking that I will be able to enact this kind of love onscreen” said Rukmini.

Nilayan Chatterjee said “I gave Dev da the option of a semi-classical song. But he did not opt for that. I was initially thinking that I will have to compose something extraordinary to make my mark. However, what Dev da made me realize is that I needed to write something simple and clean that will appeal to the sensibilities of the audience. And that is how this song happened”.

He also added “After the rejection of so many songs, I was literally thinking what can I write that will be accepted. I came back home tired and I was strumming on the guitar when the words came to my mind. I told the director, who asked me to write it down and record it. Dev da heard the song and immediately liked it”.
