First Convocation Ceremony Of IEM, Kolkata Attended By Students

The Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata celebrated the First Convocation Ceremony for the Autonomous batch of students who graduated in the year 2022 at CII Hall, IEM Management House.

The National Anthem, the invocation song, organ music, convocation speakers, and hoods and gowns for students, staff, teachers, alumni, and Academic Dignitaries were all part of the live convocation ceremony, which carried on a long tradition.


The First Convocation ceremony was inaugurated by lighting the Ceremonial lamp and began with Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, President of IEM’s procession that included President Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Dr. Sajal Dasgupta, Vice Chancellor, UEM, Director, IEM, Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Dr. Debika Bhattacharyya, Controller of Examination, IEM, Governing Body Members of IEM and Graduating students.

The Chief Guest was Mr. Debashis Sen, Managing Director, WBHIDCO Ltd and the Guest of Special Honour was Dr. Indranil Mukherjee, VC MAKAUT.


The Chief Guest’s convocation speech, which complimented the Institute for producing young managers with a commitment to hard effort, dedication, and dynamic steering toward their objectives, came next. Then, Honourable VC of MAKAUT Dr. Indranil Mukherjee said that the graduates would be the university’s ambassadors, serving as a model for other graduates and as a source of inspiration for change.

After then, Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, President of IEM, gave a general overview of the difficulties IEM was facing as a result of the COVID epidemic and his organization’s initiatives for academic renewal and growth. Following that, Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Director of IEM, spoke about the Institute’s tremendous growth in terms of achieving academic excellence in management and technical education. IEM has received numerous awards on both a national and international level for its unwavering dedication to providing value-based education through a well-built academic delivery system. Other dignitaries then commended the students on their accomplishments and gave a succinct summary of the Institute’s report for the period of 2019–2022. Following the speeches of the dignitaries, the students present at the occasion were presented with their degree certificates.

Graduates left Convocation Hall after the ceremony and went to the photographic area. They were urged to pose for pictures with their professors and pals.

By wishing the First Autonomous Batch of 2022 the best, the Convocation was dissolved.
