The trailer launch of the new murder- mystery series, ‘Homestay Murders’, directed by Sayantan Ghosal took place recently. Gracing the occasion was the director and cast of the series.

The series has the backdrop of the misty mountains of North Bengal.

Sayantan Ghosal said “As a director, developing a web series inspired by the classic concepts of mystery and intrigue has been a thrilling task. We strive to keep viewers guessing until the very end of each episode by adding new and exciting twists that will keep them on the edge of their seats. The series now has a distinctive and immersive element thanks to the use of mountains and forests for filming, which helps to immerse viewers in the mystery. I am eager for them to accompany us on this exciting journey”.

The cast consists of Sohini Sarkar, Saurav Das, Arjun Chakrabarty, Parno Mittra, Debchandrima Singha Roy, Sabuj Bardhan, Aparajita Ghosh, and Judhajit Sarkar in pivotal roles.

Everyone remains a suspect in this disturbing murder case that centers around a homestay and the death of one of the guests. While the killer waits to retaliate, a group of strangers who are trapped together begin to turn against one another. The trailer ends on a dramatic cliffhanger, heightening the tension as we wait to learn who the real murderer is and learn the individual motivations of each of the guests.

“It has been a wonderful and exciting journey throughout. I am thrilled to collaborate with Sayantan Ghosal once more for Hoichoi, a murder mystery after we worked together on the social drama Sampurna. I’m hoping the audience will once more appreciate our effort” said Sohini Sarkar.

“Kinjal is a highly intriguing character throughout the series, a type I haven’t explored previously. It is an intriguing concept. The idea of being stranded inside a homestay while on vacation and either becoming suspects in a murder or carrying out an investigation is indeed interesting” said Saurav Das.

“The entire experience has been fascinating. I have been captivated by the idea since the very beginning. The current state of Homestay Murders is a result of the excellent work of the entire crew. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to take part in a murder mystery like Homestay because working with Hoichoi is like working with a home team” said Arjun Chakrabarty while speaking about his experiences.

The series is slated to be streaming from the 12^th of May.
