The trailer launch of Amaar Labongolata took place in the august presence of director Bappa Bandyopadhyay, Rituparna Sengupta, Bhaswar Chatterjee, Papiya Adhikari, Falguni Chatterjee, and other eminent guests.

The film is based on Bankim Chandra Chatterjee’s famous novel Rajani.

The director said “Most Bengalis have appreciated and loved films based on literature. The novels of Tagore, Sarat Chandra Chatterjee, and Bankim Chandra Chatterjee are popular even now. What they have written years ago is so relevant even today. Hence I think that making films on such amazing novels is necessary and hence I did this film”.

The cast of the film consists of Rituparna Sengupta (Labongolata), Bangladeshi actor Alomgir (Ramsoday Mitra), Indranil Sengupta (Amarnath), Bhaswar Chatterjee (Sachindra), Falguni Chatterjee (Nayeb Kaka), papaya Adhikari (Boro Bau) and others.

Speaking at the trailer launch, Rituparna Sengupta said “I do what my heart says. I have never conformed to the conventional norms. This is one such film that my heart asked me to do. This is another literary character that I am playing after the film Datta. To make a film out of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee’s novel Rajani is a great task. And when Bappa told me he was going to do this, I patiently listened to him. I felt convinced by his ideas and hence I did this film”.

The script is by Sumitro Banerjee.

The music was composed by the late Bappi Lahiri.

Shaan, Alka Yagnik, Bandana Banerjee, Sadhana Sargam, Late Bappi Lahiri, and Anweshaa have sung the songs in the film.

Late Bappi Lahiri and Late Sreela Majumder were paid respects by the assembled cast and crew of the film.

The producer of the film is Ranjana Ganguly.

The film is eyeing for release soon.
