Leading academics, business leaders, policymakers, researchers, and students from all over the world came together for a historic global summit on “Redesigning Supply Chains for Emerging Economies”. Techno India University in West Bengal organized the summit. This was hosted in collaboration with The Association of Engineers, India, the Centre for Research in Materials Management (CRIMM), and the Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM).

Reimagining supply chains in the face of unprecedented disruptions, such as pandemics, geopolitical shifts, climate change, and technological transformation, was one of the most urgent global issues discussed at the summit. Experts stressed that, especially for emerging economies, it is critical to transition from traditional cost-driven models to resilient, agile, digital, and sustainable supply chain ecosystems.

The official renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IIMM and Techno India University for the ongoing development of the Centre for Research in Materials Management (CRIMM), a joint research arm dedicated to carrying out cutting-edge research, encouraging innovation, and creating workable solutions in the supply chain and materials management domain, was one of the event’s main highlights. This reestablished collaboration upholds a common goal of connecting academia and business through significant research, knowledge sharing, and capacity building.

To co-create future-ready supply chains that are not only efficient but also sustainable, inclusive, and resilient, the event ended with a strong call for continued cooperation between academia, business, and legislators.
