TikTok has been banned in India due to the complicated India-China relations at the border areas. TikTok before being banned was among the most popular apps among Indian users. Mohit Tandon who has a great fan following on this social media app spoke exclusively to The Kolkata Mail correspondent Priyanka Dutta about his views on the banning of the app and his way forward as a social media influencer. What is your take on the government’s decision to ban Tiktok and other Chinese apps in India?

Mohit Tandon- I agree and I am in favour of Government decision of banning TikTok. I will never support any platform which disturbs the security or national interest of India.

You have a good fan following. How do you think will this affect your followers?

Mohit Tandon- My true followers will follow me on various other social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, if they really like my talent.

Since Tiktok is now banned, will you shift to other social media like YouTube to carry on as a social influencer?

Mohit Tandon- Yes off course!! I was anti-YouTube as well as I spent most of my time on TikTok. But if it is being banned then I will give more time to YouTube.

Since you are a TiktTok influencer, with the things happening in the border areas- do you think this will have a negative influence on social influencers in TikTok.

Mohit Tandon- I agree with the government’s decision of banning TikTok.

Do you think that banning the Chinese apps will help in resolving Indo Chinese issues?

Mohit Tandon- I don’t know much about the international relationships but if Indians make a good app like TikTok in India, it will be good.

We hope that a replacement app for TikTok comes soon which is Made In India and which the Indian users can use to their fullest benefit!!
