Iti Ranjan was a musical event that highlighted Tagore‘s contemporary significance. What relevance does Tagore’s unusual view of love and romanticism have in the modern world? Have Ela, Nandini, and Labanya’s battles for freedom evolved, or have they merely assumed new forms? How can Tagore’s philosophy help to lessen suffering and seek solace through acceptance of the truth in a world torn by war, illnesses, and social division?

Iti Ranjan consisted of songs, readings, musical sarod renditions, and enactments to present lovely excerpts from Tagoriana. It was a glowing tribute to Tagore on the occasion of Baishey Srabon from two artists, Dr. Mousumi Banerjee, and Shoumo Banerjee, from quite different backgrounds.

The eminent guests present in the program were Debolina Dutta and Rj Agni.

The vocals were rendered by Dr. Mousumi Banerjee.

Shoumo Banerjee accompanied on the sarod.

The poetry reading and narration were by Dr. Mousumi Banerjee and Shoumo Banerjee.

The guitar and arrangement were by Arghyakamal Chattopadhyay.

Debasish Saha played the keyboard, and Goutam Chowdhury played the tabla.

The concept was by Dr. Mousumi Banerjee and the director of the musical event was Dr. Rajeeb Chakraborty.

A grand celebration of Tagore indeed!!
