Amazon Prime’s recently released show Jubilee has been receiving much praise from the audiences.

The cast was present to interact with the Kolkata media and share their experiences of working in this series.

Jubilee is set against the backdrop of Indian cinema’s golden age. The protagonist of Jubilee is Binod Das (Aparshakti Khurana), a valet for powerful film producer Srikant Roy (Prosenjit Chatterjee). After disposing of the real Madan Kumar in a twist of fate, Binod transforms into actor Madam Kumar and goes on to become a matinee idol. The film district of Bombay will be investigated in the series along with its secrets and betrayals.

The plot of the show seemed uncannily similar to what is frequently hailed as the first scandal in Hindi cinema. Those who are familiar with the history of Hindi cinema would have already recognized how Himanshu Rai, a real-life star producer, is showcased with the character of Srikant Roy, and Roy Talkies is essentially Bombay Talkies, India’s first film company.

Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aparshakti Khurana, Ram Kapoor, Sidhant Gupta, and Wamiqa Gabbi will be seen in pivotal roles in the series.

Aparshakti Khurana highlighted the fact that when he was offered the role he was stressed about how to portray this role. The actor however thanked director Vikramaditya Motwane for helping him out. The kind of trust that the director showed also helped him a lot in portraying this role.

Jubilee is Prosenjit Chatterjee’s debut web series. The actor was waiting for the right script for making his debut on the OTT platform. He had always looked for good scripts and characters when choosing projects and Jubilee was nothing different.

Amit Trivedi has composed the music for this series.
