The grand trailer launch of Saptadingar Guptodhon, one of Bengal’s most beloved adventure franchises, took center stage at Nazrul Tirtha amid festivities, nostalgia, and cinematic spectacle.

By fusing mystery, humor, emotion, and adventure into a distinctively Bengali cinematic experience, the Guptodhon franchise has made a lasting impression on viewers. With viewers embracing the journey of Sona Da, Abir, and Jhinuk (played by Abir Chatterjee, Arjun Chakrabarty, and Ishaa Saha) across generations, what started out as an adventure story quickly developed into one of Bengali cinema’s most renowned franchises. The franchise is back with its largest and most ambitious chapter to date with Saptadingar Guptodhon.

When the worlds of Saptadingar Guptodhon and Vijaynagar’er Hirey came together for a historic afternoon devoted to Bengali franchise cinema, Nazrul Tirtha became a lively center of celebration.

The official trailer, which combined mystery, humor, suspense, and spectacle against the breathtaking backdrop of the Sundarbans, gave viewers an exciting look into the newest chapter of the Guptodhon universe.

In addition to revealing the next installment of the hugely popular Guptodhon franchise, the afternoon commemorated Kakababu’s historic 100 glorious days at the box office, marking the symbolic union of two cherished adventure universes that Bengali audiences have loved for generations.

The event was graced by Abir Chatterjee, Arjun Chakrabarty, Ishaa Saha, director Dhrubo Banerjee, Kaushik Ganguly, and Rajatava Dutta.

Prosenjit Chatterjee, affectionately known as Bumba Da, unexpectedly joined the festivities with members of the Vijaynagar’er Hirey team, bringing the afternoon to an emotional peak.

Prosenjit Chatterjee said, “It is incredibly heartening to witness Bengali audiences embracing adventure stories and franchise cinema with so much love. For viewers, movies like Guptodhon and Kakababu have created their own worlds and memories. This afternoon is made especially memorable by witnessing these two universes celebrate together at Nazrul Tirtha”.

“The love audiences have given Sona Da and the Guptodhon franchise over the years has been overwhelming. Saptadingar Guptodhon maintains the heart and nostalgia people connect with these characters while pushing the scale, emotion, and adventure much further,” said Abir Chatterjee, reflecting on the journey of Sona Da and the franchise.

“Every chapter of the Guptodhon franchise feels like returning home, but this film feels bigger and more immersive than ever before. Filming in the Sundarbans gave the narrative a completely new vitality and authenticity. Stronger feelings, more meaningful connections, and an exciting new journey will all be experienced by viewers,” said Arjun Chakrabarty and Ishaa Saha when discussing their return to the franchise.

“With Saptadingar Guptodhon, we wanted to create a larger and more mysterious adventure experience. The Sundarbans provided all the elements this story required: beauty, danger, history, and unpredictability. Fundamentally, the movie is still an emotional adventure that appeals to audiences of all ages and families,” director Dhrubo Banerjee stated when discussing the expansion of the franchise’s cinematic universe.

The celebration culminated in a commemoration of Kakababu’s 100 successful days at the box office, transforming the afternoon into a celebration of the expanding tradition of adventure storytelling and franchise filmmaking in Bengali cinema.

On May 15, 2026, Saptadingar Guptodhon is scheduled to open in theaters. On the same day, it will be released nationwide in India.
