Kaushik Ganguly will be directing his son Ujaan Ganguly for the first time in the upcoming Bengali film, Lokhhi Chele. The film will be produced by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy.

A press conference was organized to announce the upcoming Bengali film in the presence of director Kaushik Ganguly, Churni Ganguly, Ujaan Ganguly, Shiboprosad Mukherjee, Nandita Roy, Debasish Kumar and others.

The makers remained tight lipped about the plot of the film or when the shooting of the film will begin.

Ujaan Ganguly was ecstatic as he will be directed by his father in his second film, which was a dream come true for the new actor. After his last film with Windows, this is his second film with the production company. “When I was in my first year of graduation, I did Rosogolla. And now after a gap of one and a half years, when I am doing my Masters in English, I am offered this film. While I do not know about the role yet, but I am excited that I will be directed by my dad who is my favourite director too” said Ujaan.

Kaushik Ganguly as the proud father praised Ujaan and described him as a good boy “Lokkhi Chele”. “I must give ample credit to my wife Churni who has sacrificed a lot to make Ujaan the person that he is today. He is a good boy and is pursuing his studies and also his acting career. I just hope he learns a lot and becomes a good human being” said Kaushik Ganguly.

At the event, Kaushik Ganguly revealed that Nandita Roy had pitched for Kaushik Ganguly and gave a major push to his career. The director felt that his son getting launched by Windows was one of the best things that could happen to Ujaan.

Shiboprosad who mentioned that Ujaan is like his own son, wanted his second film to be at par with the first film. So that is how Ujaan was thought as the male lead for this film.

Getting directed by his father Kaushik Ganguly in his second film, Lokkhi Chele will be an important film in the career graph of Ujaan for sure!!
