In order to encourage students to participate in sports and consider volleyball as a potential alternative sports profession, Kolkata Thunderbolts organized a special interactive session.

The Kolkata Thunderbolts are committed to motivating and encouraging students to pursue sports-related occupations.

At the Heritage School, there was an interaction with renowned individuals including Mr. Ashwal Rai, volleyball gold medalist at the South Asian Games 2019 and captain of the Kolkata Thunderbolts team, Mr. Sumedh Patodia, team director for the Thunderbolts, as well as Ms. Seema Sapru, Principal, Heritage School.

The team’s goal is to build the volleyball ecosystem infrastructure throughout the entire country’s eastern region.

They just formed a tactical partnership to open the Mongia National Volleyball Academy in Jharkhand. They also actively support the Brahmaputra League in Assam and are negotiating the opening of more academies with the state governments of Assam, Jharkhand, Orissa, and West Bengal in the near future.

“I was a member of the Indian squad that won a gold medal at the 2019 South Asian Games in volleyball” Mr. Ashwal Rai.

“I viewed every challenge I faced in life as a chance to succeed. My main priority has always been playing for India, and I have never been concerned about any challenges. Our team is dedicated to the sport of volleyball and obtaining trophies is not our sole goal. Trophies are merely a result of the overall process. We prioritize spreading awareness of the game by enticing a larger audience and more talent” added Ashwal Rai.

“With the ambition to grow the passion and support for volleyball, the team from Kolkata has vowed to improve the Volleyball ecosystem infrastructure throughout the country,” said Mr. Sumedh Patodia, Team Director, of the Kolkata Thunderbolts.

“We are eager to work on this new project since it would not only highlight volleyball as a sport but also bring in a large number of young talent from all around India. We view it as a privilege and a fantastic opportunity to realize Kolkata Thunderbolts’ volleyball ambition and change the course of the sport in India” added Sumedh Patodia.
