Spine-Problems

For more than 15 years running, the Manipal Spine Care Center at Manipal Hospital, Old Airport Road, Bangalore, has been a committed center of excellence in the complete care of millions of patients with a wide range of spine conditions. The Spine Care Center, which uses technology-assisted advanced spinal operations, is protocol-driven and strives to offer the finest care at a reasonable cost. This produces a result that not only is quick and clear-cut but also endures over time.

A press meet was organized that was graced by Dr. S Vidyadhara, HOD & Consultant – Spine Surgery, Spine Care, Manipal Hospital Old Airport Road, and patients who have been healed from different spine problems.

Since 2008, Dr. S Vidyadhara has been providing patients from all over the world with complex spinal problems with excellent surgical outcomes (on par with worldwide standards) as the founder and innovator of Manipal Hospital’s spine care clinic, the first of its kind in India.

In the past 15 years, the spine care clinic has treated patients of all age groups (from infants to elderly up to the age of 100+ years), uniformly with a success rate of more than 99%. They have performed over 12,850 surgeries since their inception. Their state-of-the-art infrastructure operating rooms with multi-module neuro-monitoring and neuro-navigation help in making spine surgery safe and the results are at par with any center of excellence across the world.

The patients who attended the press conference were:

Ms. Suchanda Ghoshal was operated on at the age of 15 years for complex severe thoracolumbar kyphoscoliosis (hunch back) by Dr. S Vidyadhara more than a decade ago.

Mrs. Chanda Chakravarthy is a tea-shop owner from Kolkata who came to Bangalore and underwent spinal surgery over 12+ years ago.

Mrs. Rakhi, a young unmarried girl 7-8 years back, had a tumor arising from the spinal bone. She underwent surgery for the complete resection of the tumor and fixation of the bones.

The patients are all leading normal lives now.

Successful spinal surgery patients can live regular lives just like anyone else. The chance of paralysis following spine surgery is quite low in the modern world, despite the possibility of minor issues like wound infection and re-operation. It’s also frequently a really satisfying experience because spine procedures are typically successful when carried out by specialists in the field who have extensive training, competence, and experience in addition to using cutting-edge equipment.

With proper awareness, people with spine problems can get their problems sorted and lead normal lives.
