The Bandhobi Silk Utsav, a Mehuli Thakur passion project, will take place in December. The show will only highlight silk and tussar-made clothing components. All lovers of silk must attend this event, which will feature everything from kaftans to palazzos, sarees to dhotis.

Mehuli has been designing for more than ten years, although as a child, she used to tear apart her mother’s saris. She began at home and throughout the years has participated in numerous exhibitions. She also has a manufacturing facility. Her store, Bandhobi, can be summed up by Bengal textiles, which are “simple and practical’, with vivid color and pattern interaction, and block prints.

She hopes to speak out against the spread of synthetic material, which is bad for the skin and is truly everywhere, through this festival. Her desire to add to the legacy of her nation, which is renowned for manufacturing its own organic fabric, is what gave rise to this exhibition.

The exhibition will occur on the 6th and 7th of December 2022.
