In the august presence of Prof Debasish Maji, President, Calcutta Diabetes & Endocrine Foundation & Past President, Endocrine Society of India and Prof Nilanjan Sengupta, Professor & Head, Department of Endocrinology-NRS Medical College, Kolkata & Vice-president, Diabetic Association of India (DAI), West Bengal, an awareness campaign on correct insulin injection technique is key to better diabetes management was organized.

Insulin therapy is an important part in managing diabetes. Type 2 Diabetes patients need insulin therapy in the course of the disease for effective control of the disease.

On Insulin Injection Day, a multi-city educational campaign was organized by BD India with leading endocrinologists.

The endocrinologists highlighted on the fact insulin treatment are extremely vital for blood glucose control. Any inappropriate injection skill might hamper the dosage accuracy and its effectiveness. How and where you inject is as important as what you inject with.

Hence the doctors recommended that needles should not be reused as blunt needles can damage tissues and lead to complications.

The doctors also showed how needles should be used on individuals for better management of their diabetes.
