Neel Bhattacharya And Tiyasha Roy Pairs Again For Bangla Medium
Even though we live in a multilingual era, the prevailing belief that only the English language is a valuable educational tool—a one-stop shop for becoming street-smart, fluent, and acceptable in a High-Class society—remains.
An inflated sense of machismo gives English-medium graduates an advantage over Bengali-medium students, who frequently struggle, stutter, and stumble while speaking in front of groups, become nervous during job interviews, or may find it difficult to open up to their partners.
How do we overcome this obstacle then? How can we demonstrate that information is power? That language is merely a tool for personal growth, and that nothing is necessary to be truly worthy.
This is what Star Jalsha’s new serial Bangla Medium will explore.
A press conference of Bangla Medium was organized that was graced by the cast of the serial.
Indira’s journey to realize her goals and desires to work as a teacher in an English-medium school while overcoming long-standing social restrictions is the focus of Bangla Medium.
She is a native of the remote Katwa hamlet and received her education at Bongo Binodini Balika Bidyalay, but above all things, she has distinguished herself as a top-notch science instructor in her community. She is renowned for using innovative, creative teaching methods with her kids. She longs to share her knowledge with a much wider group of children and eventually receives a job offer from Future Dreams School, one of the best English language schools in Kolkata.
Indira has the opportunity to meet Bikram, who manages the school with help from Suhana, Bikram’s sister. She experiences the shock of her life and is made to feel ashamed of her Bengali heritage here. How will she respond to this difficulty? How will she demonstrate her value?
Indira will be played by actress Tiyasha Roy. Bikram is played by Neel Bhattacharya. Suhana will be played by Sampurna Lahiri.
“We did not think that we will get the chance to work together so soon after Krishnakoli. We were a little sad about that. But look we again got the chance to work together. People have loved our pairing before and we hope that they love us yet again” said Tiyasha.
Neel Bhattacharya said “I know Tiyasha very well and we have presented ourselves before in front of the audience. This time the characters are different and the audiences will get to see us in different avatars. We hope that we receive the same support and appreciation from them”.
This show is produced by Susanta Das, who has been behind some inspiring shows like Ke Apon Ke Por, Titli, and Alta Phoring on Star Jalsha.
Bangla Medium will air from 12 December, Monday-Sunday at 8:00 pm only on Star Jalsha SD and HD.
