Aakash Aath is all set to broadcast its fourth story titled ‘Savitri Maaer Bratakotha’ in the ‘Meyeder Bratakotha’ series.

Aakash Aath introduced “Meyeder Bratakotha” in 2021. Its purpose was to educate the next generation about the vibrant, auspicious customs and rituals that are ingrained in each and every home in the area.

The stirring story of Devi Savitri will be told in “Savitri Maaer Bratakotha,” who challenged fate with her unflinching resolve, unshakeable conviction, and indomitable wit and intellect. Even Yama Raj was brought to his knees by her remarkable courage and the chastity of her womanhood. When the God of Death was forced to “return” the life of Satyavan, her husband, whom she loved more than anything, Savitri emerged victorious. Her love was so strong that it overcame all barriers and gave Satyavan his life back.

The viewers will enjoy the evergreen story of the legendary love of Savitri and Satyavan through the character of Lavanya (Shrestha Pramanik) in ‘Savitri Maaer Bratakotha’. Lavanya is a charming young woman living in Savitrigarh and a devoted worshipper of Maa Savitri. She falls in love with Palash (Keshav Bhattacharya) and they tie the sacred nuptial bond. Soon after their wedding, however, Lavanya comes across the fateful prediction that within a year Palash is destined to die. Fearless and determined, the new bride decides to transform what has been ordained by destiny. With the power of her fortitude, infinite hope in her heart, and the precious blessings of ‘Maa Savitri’ (Sujoya Konar), Lavanya crosses various hurdles till she triumphs. Her courage and the rigorous journey that she undertakes are the major highlights of the story.

‘Savitri Maaer Bratakotha’ is directed by Suman Roy.

A compilation of religious fasting tales known as “Meyeder Brotokatha” is primarily found in Bengali homes. It is believed that if someone performs fasting rituals dedicated to a particular God or Goddess and fervently and devotionally recites the appropriate Bratakotha (spiritual tales and legends of the Gods and Goddesses) during a Puja (worship and prayers), she is blessed abundantly and her wishes are granted.
