“Pushing people away or discriminating against them just because they are HIV positive is not a good attitude. You never know the future. You also might become affected in the long run. It is, therefore, better to stop these discriminations and promote equality” said actor Sourav Chakraborty.

The actor was present at an interactive session titled “Turn the Odd into Even: The Power is Deep Within” organized at The Yellow Turtle.

Also gracing the session was eminent cricketer Sambaran Banerjee, Kishore Shaw, President of Bengal Network of People Living with HIV-BNP+, Sukanta Banerjee, Founder Member ofAmitie Trust, Lakshmi Roy, Member of BNP+, Sudha Jha, Regional Program Officer of Saathii.

This session was organized on the occasion of Zero Discrimination Day to highlight that every individual’s voice and effort impacts the global attempt for raising awareness against HIV-infected individuals.

Apeksha Lahiri stated that the only way for removing the stigma and fear around HIV is by education and awareness.
