A part of the under-construction Vivekananda Road flyover collapsed on 31^st March 2016. Six years after the mishap, director Pavel came up with a film around this incident. The poster launch of Kolkata Chalantika, the film based on this incident took place in the presence of the director Pavel and the cast and crew of this upcoming Bengali film.

The story of the film will narrate the happenings of three days.

According to the director, this is the story of the common people of Kolkata and their struggles to go about their daily lives. There is no political angle to the story. No particular political party has been referred to in this story. Instead, the story will show how before any election, how cadres are beaten.

The cast of the film consists of Ishaa Saha, Rajatava Dutta, Saurav Das, Aparajita Adhya, Anirban Chakrabarti, Ditipriya Roy, Kharaj Mukherjee, Anamika Saha, and Kiran Dutta aka The Bong Guy.

The story of the film has been penned down by Pavel and Professor Swati Biswas.

The film is presented by Baba Bhootnath Entertainment and presented by Satadru Chakraborty.
