Rangakarmee’s First English-Language Play Receives Great Feedback

The premiere of Rangakarmee‘s first English-language production, EERAA: A Woman’s Search for Mirra Alfassa, at the Rangakarmee Studio Theatre moved the audience.
Director Anirudh Sarkar presented EERAA as a daring artistic shift that embraced stillness, silence, and minimalism after the success of his META Award-winning production Chandaa Bedni. Under his direction, the performance became a meditative, immersive experience where pauses were just as important as words.
Mirra Alfassa’s life and philosophy served as inspiration for the production, which developed as an introspective journey that explored identity, memory, and the pursuit of peace in a chaotic world.

Ranjini Ghosh led the performance; her subdued demeanor complemented the director’s vision and gave the work a subtle emotional depth.
The minimal staging and contemplative tone of the event elicited strong reactions from the audience, who described it as peace in chaos. Rangakarmee reaffirmed its developing, reflective theatrical voice with EERAA.
