What happens when you push your children to fulfill your dreams and aspirations? Values get compromised and innocence is tampered with. Bengali film Titli that was screened at 26th Kolkata International Film Festival deals essentially with this theme.

The story is about Mahendra who is shocked to see his granddaughter Titli being forced into a world of television reality shows by her parents, Rishav and Payel. What happens as a result of this?

The director of the film is Bishikh Talukdar. “It was a privilege to direct Soumitra Chatterjee in the film. However, it is a great loss that I will not be able to direct him anymore. He used to guide me in different scenes and even corrected our pronunciation” said the director.

The cast of the film features Late Soumitra Chatterjee, Rhitobrata Bhattacharya, Hasin Jahan, Samriddhi Boxi, and Kanchana Moitra.

Students of FCP acting school have acted in different roles in the film along with the experienced actors.

The music of the film has been composed by Ashok Bhadra. Speaking about the trend of reality shows, the music director said “I feel that everybody is rushing in the reality shows. They lack the practice. If any individual feels that they want to pursue their career in singing, they must practice for four to five hours daily. Reputed singers do that even now.

The producer and the screenplay writer are by Sumit Mondal. The cinematographer is Malay Mondal.

The editor of the film is Aloke Dhara. Speaking at the press meet, he said “The way the new actors and the old actors have acted in the film is great. They have blended so well with the storyline. It was so easy editing the film as a result of this”.
