Great news for the fans of Bengali actor Ritwick Chakraborty!! The actor will be seen in an animation film for the first time. The film is titled Lyaad.

A one to one interaction of the cast and crew of the film was organized recently.

Lyaad is a musical journey of an overworked corporate individual. He is sandwiched between his boss and his ever demanding wife. As a result, Kinkar looks for some solace in an unlikely ally. Raja Da, the king of ghosts appears and gives Kinkar the one thing that was missing from his life. The boon of Lyaad. What follows is a hilarious roller coaster of an epic slumber trip to fantasy land.

Speaking about the film, Ritwick said “The film may be about Lyaad but it was very challenging to shoot the film, given the special format of the film. Stop motion animation was used in the film and this was a new experience for me. I had to shoot the film using my imagination as most of the part was in animation.

The film is produced by ICE Media Lab, a digital first content shop working with vernacular languages stories.

The film has been conceptualized by Shankar Seal. The film is directed and edited by Pradipta Bhattacharya.

The music and lyrics is by Anirban Ajoy Das. Dibyendu Mukherjee has sung the song in the film. “The song was conceived many years ago. Dibyendu has done justice to the song. He has a unique voice” said Anirban Ajoy Das.

“We became very serious when we thought that we will be making a film out of the song. We again recorded the song in 2018. This is a new experience as this is not the usual song that you get to listen to. There is a staccato story telling. All good work takes time and this is one such song. And now we are all satisfied with the song” said singer Dibyendu.

The animation is by Amit Kumar Bagchi.

The film is eyeing for release in social media platforms on 11^th January.
