Feluda films are an emotion for most Bengalis. Whenever a film based on this iconic sleuth is geared up for release, audiences are super excited about it. The same is the case for Sandip Ray directed film Hatyapuri. Since its announcement, the film has been generating a positive buzz among audiences.

Hatyapuri finally has a release date. The film will be released on 23^rd December.

Satyajit Ray’s ‘Hatyapuri’ is a murder thriller where the vacation of Feluda, Jatayu, and Topshe is upturned when they discover an unidentified dead body on the beach. Feluda is inquisitive and sets out to find the truth. As Feluda’s investigation unfolds, the murder leads the trio to someone named D.G Sen- who has a passion for collecting rare manuscripts. What happens next?

The music of ‘Hatyapuri’ is composed by Sandip Ray himself. Soumik Haldar is the cinematographer for the film.

The lead cast features Paran Bandopadhyay, Indraneil Sengupta as Feluda, Abhijit Guha as Jatayu aka Lalmohan Ganguly, Ayush Das as the new Topse, and Saheb Chatterjee and Bharat Kaul among others.

The audiences are waiting with anticipation as to how Indraneil Sengupta, Abhijit Guha, and Ayush Das will slip into the roles of these iconic literary characters.

‘Hatyapuri’ has mostly been shot in different parts of Kolkata and Puri.

The movie is presented by Ghoshal Media & Entertainment, and Shadow Films is the associate producer of the film. The film was earlier to be produced by SVF. However, due to some creative differences with the director, the production house backed off from the project. And it is then that the producer Anjan Ghosal decided to produce this thriller.

With Hatyapuri releasing during Christmas, it will indeed be a great Christmas gift for cinema lovers and most importantly for the die-hard fans of Feluda!!
