Short Film Polatak Narrates Story Of A Young Factory Worker
The silent, short film of 26 minutes duration titled Polatak was screened at the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival.
Gracing the occasion were director Gourav Kundu and others.
The story of the film is about a young factory worker who works in a noisy environment. The place where he lives is nothing different as it is by the railway tracks. Every day after a tiring day’s work, his sleep is hampered. He understands that machines are overpowering him. He decides to run away one day. Therefore he breaks out of the trap of the machines, the noise of life.
“Life is monotonous and to break free from this, we go out for vacations. We come back after the vacation is over. However, the worker is actually running away. And the moment when he decides to run away is also pivotal” said the director.
Sayan Mitra is the cinematographer while the film has been edited by Gourav Kundu.
Supriyo Karmakar has played the role of the factory worker in the film.
