BD Film Productions released the music of their maiden venture ‘Kulpi’ at the Lake Mall. Cast members Paayel Sarkar, debutante Protyay Ghosh, Chumki Chowdhuri,  Biswanath Basu, and director Barshali Chatterjee graced the event.

The grand musical evening was enlivened by live performances from the singers and composers Shovon Ganguly and Supratip Bhattacharya. Shree Pritam, the other music director of the movie also graced the event.

The title track, ‘Kulpi’ and its sad version, were both performed live on the stage by the singer-composer Supratip Bhattacharya. Renowned singer Shovon Ganguly performed the song ‘Ami Ki Kore Bolbo’. The song ‘Ululu’ was performed jointly by music composer Shree Pritam and Barsha Sengupta on stage. The song ‘Ululu’ was sung by Kumar Sanu in the movie. Debojyoti Mishra composed a special background score for the movie.

The songs of ‘Kulpi’ are both peppy and soulful which synchronizes well with the theme of the movie.

The story revolves around Kuldip Roy Chowdhury, who is known as ‘Kulpi’ due to his diminutive stature. With veteran actor Rajatabha Dutta playing Kulpi’s father, Kalipdada, the film gradually highlights a beautiful father-son bond while depicting Kulpi’s struggles. Payel Sarkar plays Kankona, who is Kulpi’s love interest. Biswanath Basu’s character, Hilton Braganza, tries to subjugate Kulpi and force him into a pre-determined order of existence suitable for ‘Dwarfs.’ The story revolves around Kulpi’s quest to overcome these obstacles.

‘Kulpi’ is produced by Bidyut Das of BD Film Productions. Barshali Chatterjee herself has penned the story and script of ‘Kulpi’.

The film is eyeing for release in May 2022.
