“Stories Like Aamar Boss Needs To Be Told”-Raakhee Gulzar


Age is just a number. Veteran actress Raakhee Gulzar proved that with her charisma at the trailer launch of the upcoming Bengali film Aamar Boss.
The director duo of Nandita Roy-Shiboprosad Mukherjee, and the cast and crew of the film graced the event.

The story of the film Aamar Boss explores the humorous and emotional complexities of a mother-son relationship.
Shiboprosad Mukherjee revealed at the trailer launch that Raakhee Gulzar had said that she would only do a film if the story appealed to her. And the story of Aamar Boss appealed to her, and hence she acted in this film.
With this film, Raakhee Gulzar returns to the big screen after 22 years.
The character of Smt. Shubhra Goswami is played by Raakhee Gulzar, and her son Animesh Goswami is played by Shiboprosad Mukherjee.
Raakhee Gulzar said, “I had my share of fame and success. I do not want any more association with the glamour industry. Hence, I quietly live my life. However, when I read the script, I found it very important and topical for today’s times. It was a story that needed to be told. I grew up in a joint family, but now, in the age of nuclear families, everyone is busy. They have hardly time for anyone else. It is then that these stories like Aamar Boss are so important”.

Aishwarya Sen recalled her shooting days at the trailer launch. This is her first film with Windows Production, and to get a chance to work with Raakhee Gulzar in her debut film was very special for her.
Nandita Roy said that she was a NRI Bengali. “My uncle Subodh Mukherjee was the producer of the film Sharmeelee. The actress was already finalized, and when asked whether Jeetendra or Shashi Kapoor would be the hero, my aunt and all the women voted for Shashi Kapoor. On the occasion of the silver jubilee, it was then that I saw Raakhee Gulzar, and I was awestruck by her beauty. How could someone look so beautiful? It is destiny that I could direct her in one of my movies,” said the director.

Srabanti said that her parents were extremely happy that she got to work with Raakhee. Her parents were waiting for the day the film would be released, and they would get to see the film. “Working with Windows was a great experience. It felt like I was working with my family. The team showered great love and was very supportive. My dream to work with Windows finally came true,” said the actress.
Kanchan Mullick recalled his first day of shoot. “Despite Raakhee ji being a senior actress, she made us all feel so comfortable on the sets. I was having cold feet, but she made us all relax. And that shows her greatness as an artist,” said the actor.
Shruti Das’s debut Bengali film is Aamar Boss. The actress was visibly excited to work with the production house and also share screen with veteran actress Raakhee Gulzar.

Gourab Chatterjee said, “It is a feather on my heart to work with Windows Production. There is a fun moment that I would like to share. I had an intense scene with Raakhee Gulzar. I was preparing my lines. When the time for the shot came, I could only remember her iconic dialogue- Mere Karan Arjun ayenge. I could not think beyond that, and it was hilarious”.
There are four songs in the film. The music of the film is by Anupam Roy.
The film is slated for release on the 9th of May.
