A classic composition by Rabindranath Tagore receives a fresh musical interpretation in the second song from the film Emperor vs Sarat Chandra.

‘Tomarei Koriachi’, the second track from the world of Emperor Vs Sarat Chandra, is now available. Directed by Srijit Mukherji, the film pays tribute to more than a century of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s groundbreaking literary legacy through Pather Dabi.

Inspired by the enduring composition of Rabindranath Tagore, Tomarei Koriachi translates the original’s emotional richness and depth into the film’s musical landscape, preserving its timeless essence.

The song has been rendered by Mohan Singh Khangura, Ishan Mitra, and Antaraa Bhattacharya, with music production by Souptik Mazumder and Achin Sarkar.

This arrangement combines esraj, tabla, percussion, acoustic guitar, and mandolin to produce an evocative soundscape that enhances the historical ambiance and emotional depth of Emperor Vs Sarat Chandra.

Tomarei Koriachi provides yet another look at the unique musical universe Srijit Mukherji has crafted for this ambitious literary-historical drama.

Presented by Nandy Movies and produced by Pradip Kumar Nandy, Emperor Vs Sarat Chandra stars Abir Chatterjee, Tota Roy Choudhury, Mimi Chakraborty, Divyani Mondal, Rik Chatterjee and Sanjoy Nag.

“Coming to Jorasanko makes me feel emotional. This is one of the few places that every Bengali feels pride to come to. And to come here for the launch of the second song of the film is indeed a great honor,” said Tota Roy Choudhury.

Abir Chatterjee mentioned that the film will throw light on the relationship between Rabindranath Tagore and Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. He also said that it would be very good if normal people could incorporate a certain amount of their philosophies in their lives.

Mimi Chakraborty, who is working for the first time with the director, said, “I believe this is the right time, and so we actually could work together. Otherwise, many times we have thought of working together, but it did not happen at all. Either I was busy, or Srijit da had finalized someone else for a role”.

Tomarei Koriachi is now streaming on the official Nandy Movies YouTube channel.

The film releases on 15^th of October.
