“It is a different character from the ones that I have played till now. I become a wolf and it has been a very physically challenging role. Some of the most difficult scenes in the film were the ones in which the transformations took place” said Varun Dhawan.

The actor was present along with Kriti Sanon, Abhishek Banerjee, Paalin Kabak, and producer Dinesh Vijan were present in Kolkata for the promotions of the upcoming Bollywood film Bhediya.

While many have been thinking about whether the film was inspired by any Hollywood films, the producer said that the film is based on the folklore of Arunachal Pradesh.

Varun Dhawan will be seen in the role of Bhaskar Sharma. “I had to pay a lot of attention to my diet as well. It was a physically challenging role. I consumed lesser carbohydrates and focused on eating more protein. I fed on chickens so much that Kriti thought that there will be no chickens left” added the actor.

Kriti Sanon will portray the role of Dr. Anika Mittal. “I play a veterinary doctor for the first time in my career. She is a bit weirdo and the fact that she had to deal with a person who turns into a wolf is a case that she cannot understand well initially. What happens next?” said Kriti.

Dinesh Vijan said that the VFX in the film is at par with international standards. The fact that the audience has been exposed to international films during the pandemic has increased their expectations. And hence the makers of Bhediya left no stone unturned to make the film visually gripping and appealing.

The team visited Bhawanipur College, rode the tram, and also gorged on local delicacies.

Prosenjit Chatterjee also graced the occasion and congratulated the team for coming up with such a film with a gripping story. He also did the famous howl with the other actors at the press conference.
