The University of Haifa Invites Applications For Scholarships In The MSc Marine Geosciences Program
Exploration geophysics, seafloor mapping, remote sensing, geodynamics, tectonics, marine and coastal sedimentology, micropaleontology, pollution studies, seismology, hazards, marine geoarchaeology, geophysical modeling, geochemistry, chemical, and physical oceanography are all topics covered in the Dr. Moses Strauss program M.Sc. in Marine Geosciences. It is a blend of practical and theoretical aspects.
Admission Cycle: Taught in English, the program can be completed in two years and begins in October 2022.
Admission Requirements:
- A B.Sc. degree in geology, geophysics, marine science, engineering, soil sciences, or other related disciplines from a recognized academic institution, with a minimum grade of 80 or equivalent (additional courses may be requested after admission to compensate for certain deficiencies).
- A basic understanding of science in the following areas is required by the department: Mathematics, physics, chemistry, geology, atmosphere, English, and computers are some of the subjects covered.
- TOEFL scores of at least 550 on paper, 213 on the computer, or 80 on oral (internet-based test)
- Curriculum vitae
- Research statement – research goals and objectives (500-750 words)
- Official transcripts of grades and diplomas
Eligibility for Scholarship:
The University of Haifa supports scholarships covering 75% of the tuition fees and provides a monthly stipend for two years (24 months, a total of 60,000 NIS). There are also scholarships with larger monthly stipends that will be distributed on a competitive basis.
