The trailer launch of director Mainak Bhaumik’s upcoming Bengali film Mini took place at Hamley’s, South City Mall.

Gracing the occasion was MimiChakraborty, director Mainak Bhaumik, Ayanna Chatterjee, producer Sampurna Lahiri and other members of the cast and crew of the film.

The trailer of the film shows the dynamic relationship between an aunt and her niece. The role of the aunt is played by Mimi Chakraborty while the niece’s role is enacted by Ayanna Chatterjee. Mini is a feisty teenager and how will her aunt handle her is what the film is all about.

This is Mainak Bhaumik’s first film with Small Taalk Ideas.

Mainak Bhaumik loves telling relationship stories in his films, and Mini is nothing different. The director was happy with the film’s story. The director said that the film is about an independent girl and she carries the responsibilities of all the family. It also shows the friendship between a child and an adult.

Mimi heard the story of Mini when she was shooting for Birsa Dasgupta’s film Crisscross. She heard the story and immediately liked it. There are not many films made in the Bengali film industry that are female-oriented. She was glad that she got to act in such a film.

“I was approached by Mainak during the lockdown for the role of Titli. Titli’s outlook is similar to mine. The way she walks, talks, or dresses is the way I do it. There are few scripts written for women and I am lucky that I have been able to work in films where the director had me in their mind before penning down the script. Mini is a great gift from Mainak” said Mimi.

Sampurna Lahiri was extremely positive about the film and she said that the film will be loved both by the youngsters as well as their parents/ guardians.

The film stars Mithu Chakraborty, Saptarshi Moulik, Kamalika Banerjee, Rudrajit, and others.

The music for this film has been composed by Savvy, Ranjoy Bhattacharjee, and Mainak Mazoomdar. The songs in the film have been sung by Lagnajita Chakraborty, Somlata Acharyya Chowdhury, Pritha, and Shaoni.

Produced by Small Taalk Ideas (helmed by Sampurna Lahiri and Rahul Bhanja), the film will be releasing on 6^th May.
