“While many people are saying that this is the new normal, I still believe that we will overcome this and people will again see films at cinema halls in the future” said Parambrata Chatterjee at the virtual press meet to launch the trailer of the web-series Case Jaundice.

One of the highlights of the web-series was that the series has been shot entirely from the homes of the actors, keeping in mind the practice of social distancing.

Apart from Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Ankush and Anirban Chakrabarti and director Subhankar Chattopadhyay graced the virtual press meet on the Hoichoi Facebook page.

The web-series Case Jaundice is a satire of 10 episodes. Two lawyers, Mr. Sen played by Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Mr. Das played by Ankush present an endearing argument in a courtroom, one of them representing human beings and the other representing Coronavirus. In each episode, a debate drives the narrative between Das and Sen, moderated by the Judge played by Anirban Chakrabarti, who at times becomes partial in his witty comments.

This is the first web-series of Ankush and Parambrata and the two actors were excited about this venture.

Speaking at the press meet, Ankush said “I and Param da had been trying to do something special with our acts. But Anirban da with his wit and less dialogues seemed to take the cake out of most of the scenes. He is just a smart actor. I wished I had played the role of the judge in the series”.

The director highlighted on the fact how Anirban Chakrabarti had acted as the art director and came out with great ideas to shoot the scenes from his house. “He had actually helped in coming out with different ideas on how to show different props in the scenes. That has helped a lot” said Subhankar Chattopadhyay.

Ankush was helped by actress Oindrilla to shoot the scenes. “When you have a popular actress as your DOP, there is both a positive and negative side. The positive side was she knew how to give a cue and the negative side was she used to throw tantrums” added the actor.

The first 3-episodes would see the lawyers engage in debate on the following topics:

1) Manush Bonam Coronavirus (Translated: Mankind Vs Coronavirus)

2) Police Bonam Mukhosh Pora Jonogon (Translated: Police Vs Masked Population)

3) Office Bonam Poribar (Translated: Office Vs Family)

Case Jaundice will be streaming from 15th May with its first 5 episodes, followed by the next 5 on 22nd May, exclusively on Hoichoi.
