Small efforts that we as responsible citizens can take today towards conservation can pave the way for a sustainable tomorrow. The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat has gone beyond Marriott International’s sustainability policy by adopting a plastic-free drinking water solution that not only does away with the use of plastic but also significantly reduces carbon emissions by doing away with the need to transport plastic water bottles over long distances.

In partnership with Lucerne Waters Private Limited, which creates sustainable drinking water and uses biodegradable materials, the hotel has established an automated bottling facility. The use of single-use plastic is intended to be decreased. The 3000 liters of drinking water needed daily by the 304-room hotel will now be provided in glass bottles.

This step helps to empower conservation while also lowering the hotel’s production of plastic garbage. Its sincere dedication can inspire other companies and contribute to the development of a more sustainable future without the usage of single-use plastics. The hotel is dedicated to encouraging eco-friendly and responsible tourism practices and minimizing its carbon footprint, fusing the attributes of both ecotourism and responsible tourism.

The hotel’s initial effort to have a beneficial impact on the environment is its relationship with Lucerne Waters Private Limited. The hotel is dedicated to creating more environmentally friendly initiatives that address changing requirements and offer creative strategies for sustainable living.
