Women’s Volleyball Tournament By Kolkata Thunderbolts To Promote Volleyball In Bengal
Kolkata Thunderbolts was started in 2021 by Kolkata Sports Venture to popularize volleyball and make it an intrinsic part of the sporting culture in Bengal.
Kolkata Thunderbolts announced the Women’s Volleyball Tournament for Thunderbolt Cup 2022.
The press conference was graced by Pawan Kumar Patodia, Chairman and Co-owner, Kolkata Thunderbolts, Sumedh Patodia, Team, Director, Anushree Ghosh, International volleyball player, and other eminent guests.
The one-day tournament was held on 23rd September between 10 am to 7 pm at the new state-of-the-art facility Eastern Railways Indoor Stadium.
Eight teams participated from different parts of the state.
The best women volleyball players will be playing in the National Games in October in Gujarat.
The winning team received prize money of Rs 50, 000.
NGOs and women organizations who are continuously working for promoting women’s empowerment graced the tournament.
Kolkata Thunderbolts want to develop the sporting ecosystem in Bengal and promote volleyball. With such events, the public interest in the game will be increased and it will pave the future for young and aspiring volleyball players.
