The press meet of the upcoming Zee Bangla serial Alochhaya took place recently at Belgachia Rajbari.

Alochhaya is a tale of two sisters-Alo and Chhaya. The story is not a tale about sibling rivalry. It is about two sisters who support each other through thick and thin situations in their lives. The serial shows how good and bad parenting can affect a child’s nature. Chhaya despite hailing from an educated family is not good in studies. Alo is an orphan who comes to live at her aunt’s home. She however is good in studies. How these two sisters support each other is the main crux of the story.

The character of Alo will be portrayed by Hiya while Smriti will portray the character of Chhaya. The two child artists shared that they played games like Ludo, Snakes and Ladder and also did videos on Tik Tok in between shots.

“We do not have cable connection at our house. My parents watch television on net. But I cannot watch my show in which I act. I have an elder sister who is in class eleven. Everybody watches the show except me” said Hiya.

Alokendu Adhikary’s role will be played by Kushal Chakraborty while Bidipta Chakraborty will play the role of his wife, Maitreyee. Their daughter is Chhaya.

Bidipta Chakraborty said “The show is about the great bond between these two sisters. No saas-bahu conflicts or rivalry between the sisters due to love will be shown in the serial. What happens when you are from an educated family and your child is not good in studies? This is what will be mostly shown in the serial”.

The serial is directed by Pijush Ghosh.

Alochhaya will start from 2^nd September daily at 6 pm.
