A press meet was organized to announce a daylong conference on Clinical Nutrition in Advance Nutrition Care. The initiative for the conference was taken up by Peerless Hospital and B. K. Roy Research Centre.

Dr Sujit Kar Purkayastha, Dr Jaya Benjamin, Dr Amit Gupta, Dr Anita Saxena, Dr Subhrojyoti Bhowmick and others graced the press conference.

Lifestyle and diet modifications could help in preventing many diseases at the onset itself. Hence the role of the clinical nutritionist is of vital importance. It has been found that skinny people often find it difficult to combat diseases. Nutrition is of vital importance and as a result both the doctors and the nutritionists are learning.

The conference saw the presence of 200 doctors and clinical dieticians. A ten member team of dieticians from Bangladesh also attended the conference. The conference will also witness over thirty reputed speakers from different national and local hospitals highlighting on the importance of proper nutritional management in treating patients of different specialities like Critical care, Oncology, Diabetes, Gastroenterology and others.

With the help of this conference, doctors and dieticians were brought on the same platform to seek common solutions about nutritional management of certain diseases.

With such steps taken, it can be said that nutrition is very important and having an in-depth knowledge about it helps a lot.
