Jagannath-Mangalam was a distinctive stage production that combined the arts, tradition, and devotion. This unique production skillfully combined Padavali Kirtan, different forms of Kirtan, dance, and theatrical elements, all of which draw from Bengal’s rich tradition of Pala-Kirtan and Kathakata (storytelling).

The production revitalized the legend of Srikshetra (Puri), Lord Jagannath, His magnificent temple, and the numerous legends, history, and devotional stories connected to Jagannath culture through the language of art.

Jagannath-Mangalam, which featured a group performance by almost thirty artists, provided a singular aesthetic and spiritual experience; melody, rhythm, lyrical verses, acting, and dance were all interwoven to create a beautiful atmosphere of devotion (Bhakti-rasa).

This production was a sincere, artistic homage to the rich Bengali Kirtan tradition and devotion to Lord Jagannath, not merely an event. The entire event was transformed into a sublime evening of Vaishnava devotion by the proceedings, which started with Harinam Sankirtan and the honoring of Vaishnavas and connoisseurs and ended with the distribution of Mahaprasad. This holy event was made even more significant, rewarding, and unforgettable by the remarkable audience turnout.

The concept, direction, and performance were by Srijan Chatterjee.

An amazing devotional event.
