At SPK Jain Futuristic Academy, Raksha Bandhan became a celebration of bravery and selflessness. Students visited the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). They tied handmade rakhis to NDRF members in remembrance of those who have dedicated their lives to protecting others, often away from their own loved ones.

Mr. Santosh Thakur, Assistant Commandant, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), graced the celebration, adding significance to the students’ sincere act. The initiative transformed the celebration into a sincere show of appreciation and camaraderie. The rakhis became a straightforward but significant way for the students to express their respect and gratitude for the bravery and commitment of the NDRF personnel, and they were much more than just a part of the celebration.

The celebration united two generations in a straightforward but profound act of thankfulness as the students tied the handmade rakhis. Raksha Bandhan was traditionally about the bond between brothers and sisters, but by meeting people who have dedicated their lives to protecting others, the students were able to experience the festival in a much broader way. Through their interactions with the NDRF personnel, they were able to connect with the people who work behind the uniform and gain an understanding of the bravery, accountability, and personal sacrifices that come with the job. The event demonstrated SPK Jain Futuristic Academy’s commitment to assisting students in learning outside of the classroom and developing into kind, accountable, and socially conscious people.
