Actor/activist Bobby Chakraborty held an amazing session of his worldwide, free awareness program, I AM THE KING OF MY MIND, at Delhi Public School, Asansol. Teachers, students, and their parents all gave him amazing feedback.

To raise awareness of various addictions (smoking, alcoholism, smartphones, etc.) and harmful social trends (abusive language, online obscenity to gain popularity, gambling through online games, bullying, ragging, etc.), a contest is typically announced after a session if Bobby finds the principal and the administration to agree. It ought to stay in a young person’s head forever.

Vineeta Srivastava, the socially conscious principal, and Minu Singh, the event coordinator, were enthusiastic about the contest’s three participation categories: writing, art and craft, and audiovisual. “An effort should be made by the students to reflect upon their understanding and takeaway from the anti-addiction campaign, along with how they plan to carry this awareness forward” was the theme.

Bobby found it difficult to choose the winners from the many excellent and satisfying entries made by students in grades 6 through 9 in all three categories.

First place went to soldier Aashi Singh (IX), who created a striking poster that highlighted the central idea and goal of Bobby’s awareness campaign: stay away from darkness and run toward light. Second place went to soldier Arya Suman (VIII), who created another poster that effectively conveyed the session’s potent message that to be the King of one’s own mind is the only way to avoid addiction. Third place went to soldier Ankit Raj (VII), who attempted to highlight the significance of the Health-Career-Family (HCF) formula in life through a moving drawing.

Bobby will give them certificates of community service and special awards when the school reopens following the summer break.
