Actress, theatre personality Moubani Sorcar was felicitated by Bestfriendz Society for her achievements as she was awarded with the second runners up crown of Empress Universe at an event organized recently.

The actress narrated about her journey of getting associated with this pageant. One day she was busy painting when she decided to check her phone. It is then that she saw the advertisement of this pageant for the company Empress Universe. The beauty pageant was very different from the other pageants as this looked for a mix of inner and outer beauty in a woman.

After she applied, she got the call. It was then that she got to know that she was selected out of 17000 ladies from all over the world. She won the first position in Kolkata, then at the state level, then at the national level and finally got the second runner’s up title at the international level.

She worked with children with Down’s syndrome and acid attack victims. Her works were appreciated by the organizers. The contestants had to make videos which were then analyzed by the judges. The videos consisted of fashion photography, ramp walk, social services, etiquette and table manners.

The actress revealed that she lived with people from other countries at the pageant and got to know that issues like domestic violence, acid attacks were not only limited to India but also happened in other countries too.

Lastly she mentioned that she will appeal to the government so that laws can be made so that rapes and other crimes can be decreased in our society.
