One of the most renowned Visual Arts colleges in the subcontinent is the Government College of Art and Craft in Calcutta.

Parampara-Students Annual Exhibition 2023-2024 was organized by the Government College of Art and Craft at the Academy of Fine Arts (2, Cathedral Road, Kolkata) and Gaganedra Silpa Pradarshashala (1/1 A.J.C Bose Road, Kolkata, Near Nandan).

Usually conducted on college property, this year’s event had to be canceled due to ongoing, urgently required renovations to the college’s heritage building.

The Institution is in its 159th year in 2024.

Eminent artists Jogen Chowdhury and Biman Bihari Das inaugurated the exhibition.

The exhibition has on display the best-selected artworks of the students from foundation levels to post-graduate levels of all specializations of the institution, like – Painting, Painting – Indian Style, Graphic Design/Applied Art, Printmaking, Modelling and Sculpture, Ceramic Art and Pottery, Textile Design, Design – Wood and Leather & Mural Art.

The exhibition will be open to the public till the 10th of March 2024 from 2 pm to 8 pm.
